Schönheitswahn

In der aktuellen Zeit (Ausgabe 36/2008) habe ich eine Interesse weckende Besprechung über das Buch "Wir Schönheits-Junkies" von Christiane Zschirnt gelesen. Darin folgendes Zitat, was ich für sehr bedenkenswert halte. Gilt nicht nur für Frauen.

"Ich frage mich ob eine jener Journalistinnen, die empört über die Magermodelszene schreibt, selbst in der Lage ist, entspannt ein ganzes Stück Sahnetorte zu essen. Wenn sie es nicht tut, und ich vermute dies stark, dann haben wir kein Problem mit der Modeszene, sondern mit der Gesellschaft."

Show me do

Yesterday I came across a great educational website ShowMeDo that introduces programming and webdevelopment topics with videos. Some of them are for beginners but those I watched get down to the nitty-gritty part very quickly. In all videos an expert gives shows a video, of how he does it. A very practical way of introducing a new topic - while you can ironing along the way. Another advantage of the site is, that a focus is put on python.

Actually, I was looking for some django tutorials how to setup a small web application. I liked the tutorials by Siddhi from India. He explained the usage of django in the implementation of a wiki application. This was very helpful to me.

By the way I got a real figurative conception of India because of the constant honking in the background. Saw the streets of Bangalore right before me. (At least this is my imagination which is strongly influenced by the educational films in the "Erkundeunterricht" at school 20 years ago). Ganges at it's best. Rock on, Siddhi!

Am See

Es ist Urlaub. Jeden Tag in den See springen und schwimmen. Kräftige Züge machen - sich treiben lassen. Am Steg in der Sonne liegen und sich trocknen lassen. Das Leben ist schön.
