Python hacks and recipes revisited

Some years ago I bought the Python cookbook (08/02) and occasionally read in it. Not from the beginning to the end, just what was interesting to me. Last week I scanned through the book again and wondered about the new tips I found inside. After nine years of python programming and more than 100k lines it is amazing what you can learn. I start a little series about some pearls I came across and they will be named Python Pearls in the title.
